K Beauty: No Make Up Glow

In a gestational fit of "I feel like absolute crap" I stumbled upon the Little Book of Skincare by Soko Glam and decided to give it a whirl. It's no surprise my current skincare regime needed revamping, add in pregnancy hormones and -- my face was a bit of a "situation".

More than a bit skeptical of the seemingly time consuming 10-step skincare routine (day and night, no less!), I decided a) it couldn't hurt and b) a little self care is always welcome.  A  month in and I'm happy to report not only has my complexion perked up, but so has my mood. I've even gotten Mark on-board and he has been more diligent than I on more than one night time cleansing occasion.  Shockingly enough, the process takes about 5-10 minutes start to finish, with sheet mask days averaging 30-45 minutes which sounds like a long time, but has been a welcome addition to my nightly routine once Owen is tucked in for the night. And on nights when "I can't even", I breeze through five steps (steps #1, 2, 4, 5, 9). Or not, because #sopregnant #soexhausted. Progress, not perfection - am I right?

Below are the products we are using currently:
  1. Oil Cleanser: Green Tea Cleansing Stick (it feels and smells amazing!)
  2. Water Based Cleanser: same as #1 -- I double cleanse on days my face feels extra wonky or if I've skipped my night routine.

  4. Toner: Dear Hydration Toner
  5. Essence: Advanced Snail Mucin 96 Power Essence
  6. Serum: InstaNaturals Vitamin C Serum/Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate (for nights when my face needs added hydration)
